Advertising Prices

Advertising prices are configured per publication and can be configured here:

“Home”> “Subscriptions & Advertising” > “Ad Publications” > “Lookup Ad Publications”

  • Query for publication for which you wish to create prices,
  • Click the Ad Pricing for Publication link.
  • Click Query, or use any of the filters to see only certain prices.
  • From the price list screen, click the Insert button at the bottom.
  • Enter relevant information to build out the desired price. The included fields are:
    • Issue – optional field. Use if the price will be valid for only a specific issue. If the price is valid for the overall publication, leave blank.
    • Ad Size Code – size of the advertisement, usually full page, 1/2 page, etc.
    • Advertising Type Code – advertiser rate to be used, usually 1 time rate, 2 time rate, etc.
    • Color Code – color options, usually black & white, 2 color, 4 color.
    • Position Code – position within the publication, usually run of book or general placement, inside front cover, inside back cover, etc.
    • Bleed Code – bleed code, if specified. Usually yes, no, or any.
    • Start Date – start date of date range during which this price will be valid.
    • End Date – end date of date range during which this price will be valid.
    • Description – description of this advertising rate. This should be a meaningful description, so that a user can tell the specific price being used without having to look at the detail of the price on the rate card – for example “1/2 Page 4C 3X” could be used to describe a 1/2 page, 4 color, 3 times rate price.
    • Inactive – if price is inactive or active. If set to YES, then the price is inactive.
      Finally, provide the income account to be used, the deferred account to be used if applicable, and the amount to be charged. Click Save to create the price.
